Seattle sends:
- SP Clayton Kershaw (MLB-DL)
- LF Eddie Rosario (MLB)
Anaheim sends:
- LF Kwan Sheem (MLB) (retain 30%)
- SP Greyson Long (AAA)
- 2B Daniel Brito (AAA)
- SP Steve Ward (A-)
- CF Josh Gortney (R)
- SP Keyon Dejene (R)
- CF Mike Harper (R)
- CL Zach Brewer (R)
So much to say about this deal:
- Sheem will be a long-term upgrade at the LF/CF position. I liked him as a FA and am willing to spend ~$20M annually if his bat can reach it's potential. This is an upgrade to my lineup.
- Gortney is the big, top prospect I was seeking for Kershaw. Prospects are always risky, but I love his intelligence and w/e. I have more trust in him than most specs.
- Greyson Long will be above average SP depth for my team. We are getting back to our "value" starters mentality.
- Daniel Brito is our future at 1B/2B. Opens up a lot of possibilities and depth in the infield.
- Ward (who is about to be shipped off), Dejene, Harper, and Brewer are all solid bets on specs. I don't expect all of them to pan out, but I like my chances for at least one to, and I hope it is Dejene.
Thanks Tieran for the respectful and productive talks. Best of luck with Kershaw. Keep his streak alive!
