There is a known glitch in OOTP18 that will turn off the "hard cap" setting for international amateurs. This happened during the first file for signing these players (it has since been fixed), but Arturo Maya signed with Kansas City for $14.4MM. I did remind everyone via Slack not too offer above the $5MM cap limit. This simply seems like an instance in which Kansas City did not see this reminder. I do expect ABL GMs to keep tabs on Slack, but since this seems like a misunderstanding, the "penalty" will not be substantial. In the future, I will make sure I post big announcements in the forum as well.
Actions to be taken: - SP Maya will be made a free agent (he cannot be added back into the international pool) - KC will be refunded the cash maximum, $10MM - If the game decides to impose any restrictions on signing international amateurs in 2022, they will be enforced (I don't think I can change this, anyway).
More information to follow, via both Slack and forums. If you have any questions, contact me directly. Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding as I took the time to discuss how to resolve this situation with the leadership committee.
