Yes, we need to clarify and enforce the rules regarding "player(s) to be named later". Currently, they are technically not allowed but can be done so on "handshake" type agreements. However, such agreements have already run into some hiccups. In my mind, I see two possible solutions: - Ban PTBNL completely - In other words, any trade that is discussed and agreed upon between GMs MUST be posted at the moment of agreement. Any future agreement is considered collusion and faces stiff penalty, up to removal of ABL. - Allow PTBNL, in specific circumstances - PTBNL may be agreed upon and enforced, up to 4 months in advance, but only for: - Draft picks ALLOWED *This would allow for next year's draft picks to be traded in July
- Specs (not on 40-man) ALLOWED
- Cash NOT ALLOWED
- Anyone with ML contract NOT ALLOWED
- FA signings NOT ALLOWED
The reason behind this is to avoid the potential of one team not being able to afford the future trade. Specs and draft picks do not cost budget, so they can be traded as PTBNL. I have no problem with this option, as it should be easy to enforce.

I voted to ban completely - I feel that is easier and better for the league.

I voted other by mistake, i meant to pick option 2. The only things where it makes sense for a PTBNL are draft picks after the current years draft and prospects during the year they were drafted. I'm perfectly fine with the outlines mentioned, and im perfectly fine with buyers beware, and the league having no say in a handshake agreement.

I'd rather allow it or ban it completely. We already have restrictions on trading players that were just drafted and when future picks can be traded.
I feel like that's a lot of rules that would be changed for something that happens so rarely.

I propose removing the restriction on trading recently signed free agents, then this is issue goes away completely.

I would prefer to keep the ban on trading recently signed FAs. However I do see your point on recent draft picks and specs. This may need to be a new poll.

We will ban completely. Any future agreed upon trade will be viewed as collusion.
