This poll was promoted by both the concept of "Waiver Trades", which as a little clunky in an online league, AND by the trading of minor league players after the "trade deadline".
In an effort to keep this as clean and SIMPLE as possible, the POLL proposes simply ELIMINATING any trades after the Trade Deadline and through the Roll-Over to the next Off-Season.

I understand that it seems a little clunky and can be more work for commissioner, but I prefer to keep this as is. Not because I anticipate taking advantage of post-July trades, but it's a part of MLB and I think should be maintained.
Honestly, I think these kinds of trades will still be very uncommon. It would be foolish to rely on such things.

Agreed - thats the MLB rule....its not like there were 100 trades. Just keep it as is. Gives people the opportunity for a last ditched effort.

I will share a different voice. The trade deadline is a deadline. Not a deadline, but keep trading deadline. Having a line in the sand with one trade deadline forces everyone to lay their cards on the table and get to business making trades. By continuing to trade after the deadline, it's no longer a deadline and will be a feature that no longer has the same effect. If the argument is more time is needed to make trades, then my response is simple: work harder.
Now. That is my opinion. We all have them. Having a voice allows us to share our opinions, no matter what happens with the vote. I appreciate David opening this up to hear our voices, and whatever the decision is, i will abide by it.

There are so many "rules" that are different in this league. If you like the ability to trade after the deadline, great! That being said, the It's a "MLB rule" is a pretty poor reason.

Don’t players have to clear waivers before being traded first?

Don’t players have to clear waivers before being traded first? Major league (40-Man) yes. Minor league no.

Don’t players have to clear waivers before being traded first? Major league (40-Man) yes. Minor league no. In my opinion the waiver thing is just an extra headache that the commish needs to verify before completing trades. If he wants to take on that extra responsibility, more power to him but I am totally fine with sticking with 7/31 as a strict end to trading til the offseason.

I am going to alter the rules of the league in this case to make the "Trading Deadline" the actual DEADLINE for all trades prior to the Off-Season.
I get that waiver trades post-deadline can occur in MLB. And in most cases I think it's pretty good policy to follow what the majors do, because they have refined their game over 100+ years, but in this case, and for an online league, I think it's much cleaner if the deadline is a hard date deadline.
Thanks for the votes! While 25 is not quite 30, it's a decent percentage of ABL GM's.
