TARGET DATE: Saturday, July 22 @ 8pm ET
The above date gives you five days/sims in which to adjust your ROOKIE league teams.
Here's my plan:
- Effective the date above, please have MOVED any players you wish to KEEP at your rookie level to either your ARIZONA LEAGUE or GULF COAST LEAGUE teams!
- COLORADO IS A SPECIAL CASE as they do NOT have any AZ or GULF teams - In your case please move rookies you wish to keep to your SHORT SEASON (NorthWest League) team temporarily!
- SAN DIEGO IS ALSO A SPECIAL CASE as they are the only franchise with TWO Arizona League teams - (VERY IMPORTANT) - PLEASE LEAVE ONE ENTIRELY EMPTY! I plan to move the affiliation to COLORADO.
- By the way - Leave any players at that level you don't want on your other rookie level teams - They will DISAPPEAR.
Once I import Saturday night I will do the following to contract the Rookie levels:
- I plan to DELETE the APPALACHIAN, PIONEER and DOMINCAN rookies leagues ENTIRELY.
- We will retain ONLY the Arizona and Gulf Coast leagues at the Rookie level. It works out nicely because everyone basically ends up with a rookie team that way (instead of, in extreme cases, four).
- SAN DIEGO - Your EMPTY rookie level team in the AZ will have it's affiliation changed to COLORADO and the name changed as well to Grand Junction Rockies (again so COL has a rookie level team).
- COLORADO - You can then move your rookies stored at the Short Season level to your NEW rookie level franchise after the sim.
Presently Colorado has only two rookie level teams as is, so it's not a giant loss. Others start with far more and this will make these far easier to manage.
I can go into greater detail, but I have thought this through and, to minimize moving franchises all over the place, this really is the easiest route.
This will cut down on the masses that will never get a sniff, churned annually by the newly drafted players.
Please NOTE the DATE and have your players MOVED by Saturday evening EASTERN TIME.
Thanks for understanding.
I truly believe this is good for the league in both the near and longer term.
