I feel like a lot of the season previews are simply me telling what happened and highlighting some interesting points of each team. It is a great experience for me, but perhaps my favorite post is this one, when I get to predict rather than preview.
Divisions are likely wrapped up already. Here are the division winners, ordered in likeliness to take their respective top spot:
1. Los Angeles Dodgers
2. Chicago Cubs
3. New York Mets
4. Cleveland Indians
5. Texas Rangers
6. New York Yankees
This may be the first year when I can pretty confidently predict all six division winners. However, as you can see, I think there is more room for an upset in the AL. However,
Team's likely to be in the NL Wild Card race, ranked:
1. Colorado Rockies
2. St. Louis Cardinals
3. Pittsburgh Pirates
4. San Francisco Giants
5. Washington Nationals
6. Atlanta Braves
7. Cincinnati Reds
8. Miami Marlins
9. Philadelphia Phillies
10. Milwaukee Brewers
Yes, I think 10 teams are in play in the National League for the final two playoff spots. This sub-league has a huge middle class.
Dark Horse Award Candidates:
I have mentioned some of these on Slack, but here are some players I expect big years from:
MVP: SS Andres Gimenez (MIA), 2B Frankeny Fernandez (HOU) Cy Young: SP Blake Snell (VAN), SP Aaron Nola (PHI) ROY: Daz Cameron (SEA), Joe Rizzo (CIN)
Next Offseason predictions:
This offseason we saw a lot of teams in financial trouble, one of the better players (Jose Altuve) going for below market value, and a scarcity and inflated pitching market. Next year? I think there could be even less talent, less compensation FAs than this year (which was only 2), and more teams struggling to sign FAs early. The days of inflated free agent deals seem to be behind us.

Aaron, for your next offseason preview, you're forgetting my ever-expanding budget!
