Stolen from the Braves excellent thread from last (in-game) year.
Answer some questions about your team!
1. What went right during the first half of the season?
2. What went wrong?
3. What needs to happen for you to make the playoffs?
4. Who is your first half MVP from your team?
5. Who can you call up in the 2nd half that is capable of making an impact?
6. Who will win your division
7. Who will win the World Series?
My thoughts!
Answer some questions about your team!
1. What went right during the first half of the season? Manny Machado is proving himself, hitting an MVP worthy 326/398/544 with 4.8 WAR, Freddie Freeman defying aging with 316/413/557 with 3.8 WAR, an All-Star berth and All Star Game MVP honors, and the team as a whole in HR's - 136 HR already, placing 3rd in the AL after only 162 HR last year.
2. What went wrong? The pitching staff somehow even WORSE than last year - a 5.72 ERA, lead by prized offseason pickup Barrett Astin with a unsightly 7.12 ERA; other offseason pickup Brandon Woodruff actually is the pitcher who leads my team in ERA (qualified # of innings) with a 6.18 ERA. Literally my entire pitching staff seems to be playing slow pitch outside of RP Chaz Roe (2.84 ERA in 31.2 innings pitched). Also, production outside of 1B, 3B and SS has been horrible.
3. What needs to happen for you to make the playoffs? Not that I was planning on it this year, but not gonna happen.
4. Who is your first half MVP from your team? Despite leading the AL in WAR and still not making the All-Star Team, gotta be Manny Machado.
5. Who can you call up in the 2nd half that is capable of making an impact? Cheating a little bit, but brought up Blake Rutherford a few weeks ago and he has filled my CF hole quite well, smacking 353/417/451 in 24 games.
6. Who will win your division I think Boston will overtake the Jays
7. Who will win the World Series? Hmm... I have a good feeling about the Pirates to repeat. I think the Dodgers will exit in the first round.

1. What went right during the first half of the season?
Honestly not too much. Turning a free agent signing (dozier) in to belt and others is pretty nice though.
2. What went wrong?
Only need 1 word. Ramos. Also my newly signed closer getting hurt for a year in the first week of the season wasn't amazing.
3.
Hehe.
4.
It's gotta be either Herrera or Moniak.
5.
Also cheating by saying Moniak. Honestly the only prospect I have that i believe is mlb ready.
6.
Marlins, no question about it. Seriously, the Mets.
7.
Call me insane but Seattle.

1. What went right during the first half of the season? J.P. Crawford and Luis Alexander Basabe look like they are long term solutions to two of the hardest defensive positions (SS and CF). Tinoco and Stanton have stayed healthy.
2. What went wrong? It's almost the end of July and I still don't have 5 producing starting pitchers in the rotation. The 5th spot has been a cycle all season long.
3. What needs to happen for you to make the playoffs? Fortunately, I think I'm close. My team needs to continue not giving up HR's (2nd in AL) and taking walks (2nd). I'd like to see an improvement in defense, and strikeouts (from my hitters). If this happens, I think we should be good.
4. Who is your first half MVP from your team? It's been a team effort during the first half of my season. I think my two All-Stars were aptly named and probably the most valuable on my team: Paul Fry and Michael Mariot. The bullpen is once again fantastic.
5. Who can you call up in the 2nd half that is capable of making an impact? If he survives the trade deadline, Chris Torres is going to make an impact. He has insane speed and control of the strike zone. I expect some pitchers to be called up as well. Look out for Yadier Echevarria, Dylan Baker, and possibly Nick Wells.
6. Who will win your division I really think I have a chance, but it's hard to go against Texas. They continue doing what they are doing.
7. Who will win the World Series? Even Cleveland wasn't as dominant (last year) as the Dodgers are this year. I picked against Los Angeles before the season and looked silly. I won't do that again.

1. What went right during the first half of the season?
The young bats in the lineup started off the season solid. The rotation became at least average and we won some games we probably shouldn't have.
2. What went wrong?
We started to pitch the way that was expected. A couple of slumps at the same time and Cleveland got hot and is running away with the division again.
3. What needs to happen for you to make the playoffs?
Young guys need to continue to grow and play well. We are a year ahead of plan so if we can sneak into playoffs that would be a huge bonus.
4. Who is your first half MVP from your team?
5. Who can you call up in the 2nd half that is capable of making an impact?
We have plenty of talent in AAA and AA that are waiting on a call up. Gavin Lux is almost ready in the middle infield. JB is getting closer. And then the 2 big bats in AAA are waiting on the call. All can impact the team, but we are trying to stay patient.
6. Who will win your division
Cleveland in a run away....but like i said in preseason, it wouldn't be as easy as it was last year.
7. Who will win the World Series?
Dodgers vs Indians in world series. No one is playing better than the Dodgers right now so i'd have to lean their way but an injury or big trade could impact playoffs in a huge way.

1. What went right during the first half of the season?
Not much in the way of expectations as I just took over VAN. And not much in the way of production either, unfortunately.
2. What went wrong?
The bar was set pretty low. I might suggest SP Blake SNELL going out for half a season in ST might have been a "wrong!"
3. What needs to happen for you to make the playoffs?
Texas, Seattle, Oakland, and quite possibly Anaheim to all withdraw from the league. Then I am a pretty solid favourite in the AL West - not a lock - but I would feel better about my chances!
4. Who is your first half MVP from your team?
C Alex Avila. Made the All-Stars team. He was a last-second decision to replace the departed RAMOS, who was asking for the moon (and I have enough dead-weight astronauts on this squad already). He has been steady and productive throughout the season and a surprise!
5. Who can you call up in the 2nd half that is capable of making an impact?
Outside of the veterans (most with brutal deals) that I cannot move, I have already tried to move some future talent in and out for a look. That will continue.
6. Who will win your division
TEXAS is already walking away. We might lose sight of them, but they will easily take the AL West.
7. Who will win the World Series?
Tough call, but I think LAD has the stuff to go pretty far this season.

1. What went right during the first half of the season? Our pitching was very good. 2. What went wrong? Russell Martin, Daniel Murphy and Micheal Branley can't seem to start hitting. 3. What needs to happen for you to make the playoffs? No much, we're in. 4. Who is your first half MVP from your team? Kluber/Stroman. 5. Who can you call up in the 2nd half that is capable of making an impact? No one... 6. Who will win your division Indians. 7. Who will win the World Series? Of course Cleveland will beat the Dodgers in the WS... just like 2017

1. What went right during the first half of the season?
Andrelton Simmons performed and we were able to cash in on him and a few others. RP Ryan Pressley has unexpectedly dominated (he's available) Waiver Claims Oswaldo Arcia and Zack Godley have performed remarkably well.
2. What went wrong?
I didn't have much expectations for this year, but Mike Moustakas has an anemic .500 OPS, and Kole Calhoun has a -1.8 WAR.
3. What needs to happen for you to make the playoffs?
We would have to win out and even then it would be tough.
4. Who is your first half MVP from your team?
Andrelton Simmons blew away all expectations, and was without a doubt our first half MVP. If you want someone still on the team probably 3B Jefry Marte (also available) or RP Ryan Presley
5. Who can you call up in the 2nd half that is capable of making an impact?
I've recently called up SP Franklyn Kilome, CF Estevan Florial, SP Chris Flexen, and 2B Daniel Brito. ALl except for maybe Florial have helped us win games, and while Florial has a paltry .441 OPS his defense is astounding. In terms of current Minor Leagues SP Ofelky Peralta will likely be a September call up and could slot in at the top of the rotation if his control improves ever so slightly.
6. Who will win your division
Rangers no question. Seattle might make a push but Rangers has already pretty much clinched it (Barring Injuries)
7. Who will win the World Series?
Cleveland is my pick. I like the Rangers if they had a better defensive SS and weren't starting Billy Hamilton; but as things currently stand I would have to pick Cleveland, their pitching is just too good. I am however rooting for either the Mariners or Twins.

1. What went right during the first half of the season?
Dansby Swanson had a great first half of the season. Ronald Acuna looks like the real deal. Top prospects all look the part.
2. What went wrong?
The lack of wins, the excess of losses. The loserish play of Greg Bird. He will rot in the minors for a while. IT'S CALLED ACCOUNTABILITY LOSER!!
3. What needs to happen for you to make the playoffs?
Alot of natural disasters in a lot of cities happening at the same time, and even then, im not sure we could sneak in!
4. Who is your first half MVP from your team?
Dansby Swanson easily. If we ever get good, kids a MVP candidate!
5. Who can you call up in the 2nd half that is capable of making an impact?
Acuna already is a regular, but i do plan on getting top prospects Ian Anderson and Austin Beck up with the team soon. They have both developed very nicely, and need to continue against the best competition.
6. Who will win your division
The Mets
7. Who will win the World Series?
The Mets
